Some of the things that were key to my success as a plan-driven project manager are exactly the things that spell doom for an Agile team — or, at least, a high-performing Agile team. Cool. And I love the graphic for “master your face”!
As I thought about that concept, it clicked for me with something else I’ve read recently about “listening with your body” – the notion that you can become more open and encourage others to be more so when you try to not respond verbally, facially, or “with your head” and your thoughts. Shutting those things off (as much as that’s possible) sounds like a way to get at mastering your face, and more importantly, the thing that face-mastery is really about: hearing and feeling what’s happening with the people you’re with.

Good work. The part that hit home with me was around being unreasonable. So many times we create our own “brick wall”. Knocking those walls down are not only necessary for progress, but can be a lot of fun. Opportunity is enhanced when the focus is on “what it can be” rather than “what it should be”.
Keep up the good work and keep “breaking the box”.
